Used to make basic mortars, plasters and limewashes. Comes wet (rather like cottage cheese).Also known as air lime or non-hydraulic lime because it needs air to set and won't set under water.
Lime
It is essential when ordering a lime putty based mortar to know what the density of the lime putty is, as this dictates the water content, and consequently the lime content of the putty, lime putty which is less dense than that stated above, will almost certainly have more water and less lime and therefore should have more putty added to make a complete mix.
