11 Building: Structural Elements

The 'structure' of a building withstands the loads to which a building is subjected both during the construction process itself and in occupation. The loads are caused by natural phenomena such as wind, snow and gravity and by the functional requirements of the building users. The Building Elements category contains sections related to these structural functions. They are considered early on in the design process.
