This programme is about promoting the positive potential of the young generation in cities by tapping into the resource of the young in the cities in new ways ; understanding better the life-styles and aspirations of the young. Implementation of Local Action Plans is covered by the partners or, if possible, by European operational programmes such as ERDF, European Social Fund, etc.
How to transform passivity, alienation and negative activity of the young into positive aspirations and careers. The second question is how to make active transitions from education to work. Finally, how to coordinate youth related initiatives and activity structures within cities.
Good practice is practice that is able to learn from mistakes, and generate better practice. MY GENERATION experiments with a whole range of methods: outreach, dialogue, tailoring, ambassadors, events, champions, examples, multi-media, real life stories, and more.
Each partner city in MY GENERATION is either interested primarily in the Outreach-theme or the Education-Employment –theme and exchanging and developing good practice in these. This interest is not exclusive, however. The cities are free to work on all themes, and engage in learning in the MY GENERATION network as they wish, as long as they take care of the delivery of their own project, and their priorities.
