EU LIFE+ Fund

What is Funded:

This fund offers co-financing of projects under three headings:

nature and biodiversity;
environmental policy and governance; and
information and communication

Funding Levels:

Up to 250 million Euros available and applicants should apply directly to the relevant national authority.

LIFE+ Nature & Biodiversity - the maximum co-financing rate can be 75 percent, but is normally 50 percent.

LIFE+ Information & Communication - co-finances up to 50 percent projects

Criteria:

LIFE+ Nature & Biodiversity 2010 - supports projects that contribute to the implementation of the EU's Birds and Habitats Directives, and that contribute to the EU's goal of halting the loss of biodiversity

LIFE+ Environment Policy & Governance - supportsspread of information about environmental issues, such as climate change and conservation. This strand of LIFE+ can also support forest fire prevention awareness and training campaigns

LIFE+ Information & Communication Awareness - raising campaigns for the prevention of forest fires and training for forest fire agents.

Application Process:

Potential applicants are advised to attend one of Information Sessions, which will take place in February, March or April 2011. The schedule of the Information Sessions, and details on how to register, is published on the Information Sessions page
