Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme (CARS)

What is Funded:
This fund provides financial assistance for area based regeneration and conservation initiatives undertaken by local authorities.
Funding Levels:
In January 2012, a further £10m of funding was approved for a fifth CARS round to run over a 5-year period from 1st April 2013 to 31st March 2018.
Criteria:
Assistance is either through support to establish a Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme (CARS) or through support for a Heritage Lottery funded Townscape Heritage Initiative (THI)
