The Scottish Government has announced the developers who will be participating in the New Supply Shared Equity Trial with developers. This trial is very similar to the existing LIFT New Supply Shared Equity scheme, but allows buyers to purchase certain new build homes built by private developers.
As with the current scheme, buyers will need to fund 60 to 80 per cent of the purchase price with a mortgage and any deposit. The Scottish Government and the participating developer will fund the remainder of the cost as an interest-free equity loan.
