A limited number of small grants of up to £7,000 are available to community groups to assist putting sustainable design into practice.

For example:

• funding support for design innovation
• funding support for design analysis
• support for feasibility studies/ assistance with development of funding applications (e.g. for renewable technologies)
• top up/ match funding for other innovation grants.

Examples of previous and current projects receiving support include: Support funding for a community heating scheme for East Lothian Housing Association; Feasibility and delivery support for the Sustainable Backcourts Initiative, Shettleston and Partick HAs; Support for the realisation of an Eco-Play Garden, Mansfield Park, Glasgow; House Condition Survey, Govan Housing Association; Part-funding of a solar panel installation at Crathie Drive, Glasgow; Part-funding of a wind-turbine for Balfron High School, Stirling; Renewable Technology Study, Clydesdale Housing Association.
